What Will We Know, Once We're Gone?

"I wonder if you can explain something to me: I have come to believe that reincarnation makes sense as the soul - or our consciousness - needs to grow in some way toward the acceptance of unity. My problem with the Catholic/Christian religion has to do with life being your one shot. After that, it's all over, you either go to heaven or hell. For many reasons I can't go with this, I don't accept it. Anyway, the soul does it's learning through many experiences in the world of 'duality' as an individual. When I read of people's NDEs, I often find them meeting up with people from their family's past. How does the concept of heaven - i.e., where your relatives might go and you will see them when you arrive - fit in? I mean, if you reincarnate within a certain time frame, then, wouldn't you no longer remain in the afterlife for an arriving soul to meet up with? Let's say a grandmother, who died 30 years ago, why would she be still in your particular afterlife? Wouldn't she be gone already into a new life on earth? Can both be true? A permanent afterlife and reincarnation?".....Rick

ANSWER:

Rick, you've asked a big question with no answer anyone can prove one way or another. So, instead of attempting the impossible, let's just consider some basic points:

• There is no way of determining where one may go after death (for certain).
• There is no way of affixing "time" or how long it may take a soul to move on once it leaves any given life.
• Most NDErs at crossover are met by people they once knew in this life - probably as a matter of comfort.
• NDE scenarios focus heavily on the life just lived, to enable learning and experience assessments.
• Some NDEs broach past-lives to the extent of seeing people and events "way back when."
• Those that do have past-life elements in their scenario, seldom are these beneficial or helpful, except to elicit "interest."
• The main emphasis in NDEs is the continuance and importance of life, no matter how lived.
• Aftereffects are geared toward improvement, expansion, and acceleration - on every level of being. 
• About ⅓ accept reincarnation as true after their near-death experience.
• This percentage tends to increase overtime, although not everyone accepts the concept.
• Clearly, the soul has a will of its own and makes choices in line with its own trajectories.
• Trying to compare soul knowledge and choices with those of the personality gets you no where.

The questions you asked are all based on linear concepts and logical thinking. Since the soul does not correspond nor relate to such brain activity, understanding "movement" and "time" requires a shift in how you respond to the world you think you see and live in. Remember, about the most any of us can access of the electromagnetic spectrum we inhabit is between 8 to 10%; all the rest of that spectrum is either infra or ultra to our faculties of perception. Everything is present. Really. There are no secrets and nothing is hidden.

We struggle to respond to what seems "invisible" because we are using the faculties we have in ways they were never designed to be used. If you want a "secret," then it is this: enhance/expand/accelerate the "equipment" you already have (i.e., your faculties of perception) to take in more of the electromagnetic spectrum. Meditation does this for you, so does prayer, religious rituals, spirituality, special music, natural musical instruments, drumming, dancing, developing your intuitive/psychic abilities, learning how to include and project. Near-death experiencers and the entire genre of threshold experiences (intense transformations of consciousness) really do all of this - big time - that's why so many people have difficulty handling them plus the aftereffects. We suddenly expand, improve, accelerate in ways we are not prepared for, and maybe even do not want. Two of my books will help you with this. "I hear a lot about reincarnation and also that there are many other dimensions and life in this universe. But when people talk about incarnation they seem to say we keep coming back to this earth. I thought there were more advanced domains. . . the thought of coming back here is the equivalent of hell."......Linda

ANSWER: 

No one can define reincarnation or how it really works, not even the experts, be they hypnotherapists, psychics, mediums, and so forth. Paul Von Ward is the only one I know who is truly trying to find a way to understand and define it. I have recommended his books before, and will again. Just google Paul Von Ward on the Internet. You will be astounded at how much work he has put into this subject and the conclusions he has reached.

In my work with child experiencers of near-death states, a fairly significant number identified with being scalar waves, parts of asteroids, bits and pieces of the universe - that agreed to answer the earth's call for help during "the changes" - this meant they had to learn how to "wear" a human body and take on incarnations. . . a new concept for them. I discuss one of the more famous of these cases in my book, The New Children and Near-Death Experiences (Flavio and his brother live in South America with their parents---both are well educated professional psychologists who were forced to reconsider the makeup of the universe and the workings of the human mind in dealing with their two unusual sons).

It is true that many of us can recall lives in other areas of the globe and at other times. It is also true that many of us can remember or at least suspect we began as sparks in the mind of God, and spread out in waves, with each wave being what later was called "a soul group" or "soul family." Some cultures have a tradition whereby the dead come back to their own families, again and again, or enter lineages either in or close to their hometown. If you read my book, We Life Forever: The Real Truth About Death (which discusses all of this), you will remember my saying that my granddaughter Myriam was my former mother-in-law (come back as her own grandchild). No doubt exists in my mind about the truth of this. Clues were numerous. There are also schools of thought where incarnations can be simultaneous and include other forms beside human. Some believe they go in and out of worlds, dimensions, realms, planetary systems.

The Threshold Experience and Why We Are Here

"Thank you for this blog and for all the wisdom you share with the world! From reading a lot about NDE's and reincarnation in the past months, it seems to me that life on Earth could be compared to plunging into a very very real video game. And we do it because we want to learn and want the challenge. Earth is real and part of God's creation, but it is not the ultimate, timeless reality. We need to forget because otherwise it would not be a challenge, nor would it be fun.

"Is this analogy correct in your view? Or am I way off base?

"Also, why would the NDE of a newborn have an impact in her life if she had just come from the other side? Is it because it can be remembered and integrated into consciousness AFTER the veil of amnesia? I would appreciate your opinion."....Diana

ANSWER

You ask interesting questions. Why are we here? It is clear to me after decades of research, life experiences, and sharings from thousands of people, young and old, that the curriculum ascribed "over there" is worked on and developed "over here."

Once we pass to the "Other Worlds," or somehow visit there on purpose or by accident, we learn or are shown "the big picture." Many are told why they were born and what they are to do here. Others are shown the grand sweep of creation, its purpose in a Grander Plan and the whys to all their questions. Since a child I have known that the answers to all my questions exist in this "elsewhere place." But getting there, much less understanding what I found when I did get there, presented a puzzle. I'd slip through the "portals" (specific shifts in energy frequency) from time to time, but never stayed long enough to make the kind of difference I wanted to see happen. When you die yet come back (a near-death experience), mostly you are able to visit or glimpse the Other Worlds, or are met by a Visitor or have a vivid Out-of-Body Experience - that show you moe of this world and more of you and more of existence and more of the Other Side and more of God and more, more, more. The majority return aglow, stunned, shocked, happy, at peace - all at the same time - because experiencing this for yourself physically and on all levels of being, not only gets your attention, it demands your attention. All is known. There really are no secrets. But, in taking on a body, most of us lose the ability to reconnect to where we once were and how we once existed and why.

We forget or the memory is taken from us, or, somehow in the process of taking on physicality, the process itself "dumbs down things of spirit." I can't call any of this wrong or even regretful. The process is not some kind of "boo-hoo." The simple fact is, we could never accomplish much or form good muscles and bone structure - strength, if you will - if we remembered all the answers to existence before we encountered the questions. We cannot be a co-creator with The Creator (which I believe is our purpose) until we have lived through, tested, and understood what that means and what it entails. Life is no fairy story. It is grit, guts, and blood until we awaken to Truth. The entire New Thought Movement, begun in the 1800's, was based on this principle: we have the ability and the right to know and develop the art of healing and of direct contact with God. We are divinity in action. As a near-death experiencer, you go through a lot of integrating into your life what happened to you and what that means to you. Reincarnation? Not all experiencers accept that theory or resonate to it, although some do. I tend to believe that something like that is true, but just how it works is beyond me. I used to think I had a pretty good handle on the subject, as, way back when, I worked part-time as a hypnotherapist specializing in past-life regressions. I've seen enough to know (and remember a good deal more myself) that what seems to be reincarnation is indeed real. . . but is it really life after life, tit for tat, exactly as it seems? No, I don't think so. There is a whole range of what the soul can do and - surprise - it is our soul that is in charge. And, the soul has a mind of its own. Don't mistake personality for soul. The two are not the same. I talk about this in many of my books, especially We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death and Future Memory. To understand multiple lives you need to get a better handle on what is meant by soul.

Why would the impact of a near-death experience have an effect on a newborn later in the child's life? This would take a book unto itself to even explore. What I would invite you to consider is that the baby is just about to or is involved in entering the earthplane. This is the shutting down process of spirit acclimating to physicality. That actually takes a while - up to around 5 years or so - usually until the child goes to school. The younger the child the more apt he or she is to "remember." And. . . the more apt he or she is to "bond" to the Other Side rather than this one. Yup, I have a whole book about that too. It is The New Children and Near-Death Experiences. You see, I don't just research topics. I like to get right down to ground level where they are happening and with who they are happening to. I'm an observer, not an academic. Child experiencers, as they grow up, can go through real challenges at home and at school, and later on in forming relationships. Some are so guided they "breeze" through, making wise choices about life and choice of career. Others stumble all the way, until they discover what is normal and typical for a child experiencer. Then it's like a big "aha," and years of confusion evaporates. Most of the Catholic Saints had a near-death experience as a child. Most of the spiritual and religious leaders we so admire had a near-death experience as a child. You can trace back in history stories of our greatest giants in science, music, literature, and the humanities - same thing happens - you discover evidence to suggest that that individual had a near-death experience as a child. The brain of such a child is directly affected in remarkable ways by their episode. Many grow up thinking they are now "psychic," when, in fact, they have become more of what they once were. They are, in their own way, geniuses.

The more you read and study the near-death phenomenon and especially what it might mean as a "threshold experience," the more things begin to make sense. Many blessings, PMH

It's the Little Things that Matter the Most

 "Let me ask you a question, please. From your experience as a researcher, does the Loving Light 'God' care about small details in our life such as study or career? I am interested in knowing how far He is involved in our lives as humans."....Richard

ANSWER 

Let me put it to you this way: every jot and tittle of our lives tend to show up in the life reviews many experiencers of the near-death phenomenon have. Not every single experience one has is faced, necessarily, but a goodly number of them. Experiencers say, as if with one voice - it's the little things that matter most. Some have the radical life review. That one includes and covers every thought you ever thought, every word you ever spoke, every deed you ever did, plus the effect of all of that on others, on the land, air, water, plants, animals. This illustrates that even breathing one breath, being born, living here, our choices - all matter - and they make a difference.

So, what about careers? They are covered too, not in the sense of what career we picked, but rather in what we did about that career, where did it lead us, how honest were we, did we do our job well, what did we accomplish, who did we help, how did we serve, what was the result of our choice?

The emphasis always seems to be on results, aftermath, where did our choices lead us and what did we do about them. Who did we become because of our choices and how did that affect others? The question most asked of the experiencer while on the "Other Side" is: who did you love, whom did you serve? ...PMH

"Many claim that our soul is eternal. Then I read that there are old souls and new souls. Could it be that people are calling themselves new souls - because they are new to being on earth?"...Qricket

ANSWER

No one knows for certain what the soul is or how it operates. What may help you is to read the "Revelations" chapter of my little book, I Died Three Times in 1977 - The Complete Story (available at on Kindle or in softcover). That chapter contains what I witnessed while dead. Souls, at least as near as I can tell, emerge from Source in waves. They are critical to Creation's Story and the formation of matter and substance. Some choose to incarnate in what becomes flesh bodies. Others choose to inhabit the bits and pieces of our Universe and in what holds Creation together. Some of those who chose flesh bodies, enjoyed the experience - and do it again and again to learn all they can while in that form. Others are more cautious, or at least more thoughtful in whatever incarnation they experience.

Generally speaking in metaphysical terms, "old souls" refers to a soul mass that has incarnated many times. "Young souls" refers to a soul mass that lacks much experience in the way of incarnations. A "new soul" supposedly just emerged from a wave and has no experience at all in human form or any other type of form. Seldom does "old" or "young" have anything to do with the actual age of a soul or how long it has existed. Some say we were all created "in the beginning." Others say the creation of a soul is a continuous process without end or beginning. "New souls," then, may not actually refer to a brand-new creation, but, rather, a soul new to flesh incarnations. There are many ways to view this. Consider them all. Just remember, nobody really knows for certain. ...PMH
