TWO NDE CASES TO CONSIDER
ANNOUNCEMENTS
I need more stories about near-death experiences for this blog. If you are willing to share your experience, please do. Not too long, please. Send to PMH Atwater, pmh@pmhatwater.com.
Attend if you can the big conference of the International Association of Near-Death Studies the last week of August in Chicago, Illinois. For more information contact IANDS directly at IANDS.org.
HERE ARE TWO CASES TO CONSIDER
Peggy says, “I listened to your most recent interview with Whitley Strieber on Dreamland. It was the most fascinating show I have heard in a long time. I am planning to read all of the books you have written, as I am very curious as to why we’re living these lives on earth, and you certainly appear to have lots of answers.
“I was born in 1940, and the 2nd World War was a large factor for children of that era as you know. It was approximately 22 or 23 years after I had that dream/experience that I told my son Jason about it. You are the fourth person I am telling about it. I have not been able to make much sense of it and perhaps you will not do so either. However, I certainly give you permission to use it if you wish to do so.”
That was the first and last I ever heard from Peggy. She just couldn’t talk about what happened to her. It’s like that with experiencers. Near-death stories are not always easy to share. PMH
The second story I want to share with you comes from Julie. “I believe my UFO encounter was first and then my NDE. In the spring of 1965 I was on a jet going over the Atlantic Ocean to Ireland. It was a beautiful morning and we were scheduled to land at Shannon airport in about two hours around 10 am. I looked out the window: just water below and a few clouds above. The most beautiful aircraft I have ever seen appeared alongside our jet. It was able to maneuver up and down and forward and backward effortlessly. It seemed curious or interested in us and stayed close for just a few moments.
“Then, just as suddenly as it appeared, it disappeared behind a cloud. My NDE was due to a swimming accident where I dove in and hit my head on the bottom of an above-ground pool. I had the out-of-body experience and could see myself from above along with my companion, a young neighbor boy - was still in the pool looking at me face down in the water.
“I recall the cozy darkness for a few moments and then the beautiful bright white beings. First there were two then three then two again. They communicated to me that I must return, that it was not my time. I couldn’t move and called out to my friend in my mind. He grabbed me and pulled me up along the edge of the pool.
“This was in the mid-sixties and it took many years for me to try and make sense of what happened. Since then, I have had many experiences but all seemingly unrelated. Would like to have the ‘key’ to unlock the answer. Many blessings in your work.”
